Hi, I’m Maggie.

From an imperfect triangle in North America; born in New Orleans, raised in San Francisco and now raising an active family of my own in New Hampshire, I am a mother, a wife, a yoga teacher and forever student.

When I first started practicing Bikram Yoga in the Fall of 2014, I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror.  I “needed” to wear a t-shirt in class, despite the heat - not to be comfortable, but to hide, out of fear of truly seeing myself. The left side of my torso, my shoulder blade, did not rest or come in contact with the floor and when we laid down on our stomachs, my ear didn’t touch the ground when I turned my head to the side.  It hurt to kneel, to sit on my ankles.  My legs; ankles, knees and hips were simply too tight. I was also totally confused - I had a beautiful family and all of the things that we are told will make us happy and yet I wasn’t. I wasn’t balanced, well or at peace.

Yoga allowed me to connect with myself in a way I had never experienced before. Through practicing, I learned that we are all a work in progress!  I am a recovering perfectionist, a recovering urbanite, a recovering b*tch. I have done things that I am not proud of. And, I am so grateful to have found a way to honour myself exactly as I am, so I can continue to evolve and be the best version of myself. I can now look myself in the mirror, like really look myself in the eyes in the mirror, with deep love and admiration and respect. Through yoga, I have found a way to take care of myself so I can not just survive, but THRIVE.

I practice for life in all of its beauty and complexity and to be present in every moment. From the simple everyday tasks of carrying groceries and reaching the top shelf in the kitchen, to playing with my kids in the snow, to sharing deep belly laughs with dear friends, to maybe one day doing my first-ever cartwheel, to feeling the profound shift that occurs when you begin to show up for yourself, to connecting with people from all walks of life.

Welcome here. I am looking forward to connecting with you and shining our lights brighter together.

Namaste.
